When A Girl Cuts Her Hair...

Wednesday, January 04, 2017

Refreshed and renewed... that's how I feel.

A new year has begun, with it bringing new thinking and new possibilities.

And... a new Hairdo!

After approximately three years of being texlaxed and a year of growing out my relaxer, on December 31, 2016 I took the plunge.

It was new year's eve.
A time for new beginnings.
And the urge to chop just would not let me be. What's a girl to do?
I loosened my braids and reached for my shears.

And just like that, the deed was done.

Unlike most, I felt no dismay or regret. I loved it. From the start.
I feel like a new woman.

They say when a girl cuts her hair, she's about to change her life!
I don't know about all that, but I do plan on making the next 365 (well 361...) days the most awesome yet.

The tone for this year is leaving my comfort zone and living fearlessly.
Doing things I've always wanted to, but never have.
Exploring my likes and loves. My personal style. Hair. And Beauty. All the things that make me me.
Jumping from cliffs and swimming with dolphins, maybe.
Living out loud!

This year, the last of my twenties, will be an exclamation mark in the story of my life.

I'm excited for what this year will bring. And enthusiastic about facing the year (and the rest of my life) head on.

Maybe... I am about to change my life!
